Advanced search
Fill in what you need; it becomes an ordinary search you can change and share. Every box is also an operator you can type (below).
Search operators
Type these in the search box, on their own or with other words. Each example is a search you can try.
"exact phrase" | These words in this order, alone or in a longer search. python "list comprehension" |
-word -"a phrase" | Leave out pages with it. jaguar -car |
tea OR coffee | Either one (OR in capitals). tea OR coffee |
site:python.org | Only that site or domain (subdomains too). tutorial site:python.org |
intitle:word intitle:"two words" | Words in the title. intitle:"getting started" django |
inurl:word | A word in the address. inurl:docs flask |
filetype:pdf | Matched by the end of the address; many files are found this way, not all. climate report filetype:pdf |
after:2024 before:2025-06-30 | The page's own date when it states one, otherwise when we first read it. rust async after:2025 |
link:example.com link:example.com/page | Pages that link to it, from our own crawl (only pages we have read). link:python.org |
related:example.com | Sites like it: linked from the same pages, in the same directory group. related:python.org |
On the results page you can also pick a time (past day, week, month or year), sort by date, or show News.
An operator we can't read (a date like after:soon) is searched as ordinary words.
